Collisional evolution of the trans-Neptunian region in an early dynamical instability scenario

چکیده
ABSTRACT Any early or late dynamical instability in the outer Solar system should have left their footprint on trans-Neptunian object (TNO) populations. Here, we study collisional and evolution of such populations numerically by an updated version ALICANDEP, which suitably takes into account onset instability. Key parameters for are chosen to match results with current observables. The new model (ALICANDEP-22) considers original region located between 22 30 au, containing 20–30 M⊕ from bodies either dynamically ejected implanted plutinos hot classical belt. An situ population objects is also present since beginning, corresponding cold-classical population. Collisional allowed starting initial conditions accounting streaming models observational constraints. The evolution of bodies orbiting in the trans-Neptunian region on to intermediate-type orbits
We investigate the dynamical evolution of 210 hypothetical massless bodies initially situated between 10 and 30 au from the Sun in order to determine the general characteristics of the evolved system. This is of particular relevance to the understanding of the origin of Edgeworth±Kuiper belt objects on scattered intermediate orbits, such as 1996TL66, which have high eccentricity and semimajor a...
متن کاملFormation and Evolution of the Trans-neptunian Belt and Dust
Trans-Neptunian objects (TNOs) with diameter greater than 100 km currently moving in not too eccentric orbits could be formed directly by the contraction of large rarefied condensations. Along with the gravitational influence of planets, gravitational interactions of TNOs played a certain role in their orbital evolution as well. More than 20% of Earth-crossing objects could have come from the t...
